George W. Bush in Israel, on first presidential visit
US President George W. Bush met with Israeli President Shimon Peres, and Prime-Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem, on Wednesday for his first presidential visit.
In the spirit of following the ‘Road Map,’ Ehud Olmert presented the President with with a bicycle’s GPS device fitted with special software mapping out cycling routes on the president’s Texas ranch.
At their meeting, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that both Israelis and Palestinians are “very seriously” trying to move forward to realise the vision of a two-state solution, whilst praising President Bush for his continued support for the State of Israel; “I say thank G-d that I can engage in diplomatic negotiations with Bush being one of my partners,”
Meanwhile, demonstrating their desire for peace with Israel, around 20,000 Hamas supporters, brandishing placards showing George W. Bush as a vampire drinking Muslim blood, protested in Gaza on Wednesday against the US president’s visit to Israel and the West Bank.

This article amongst others makes me wonder whether the Palestinians trully want peace, and a two-state solution.
